Today is the first day of real snow. You know, the kind that sticks. It's so pretty out! Maybe we will have a chance to take the girls sledding this weekend.
On another note, Gennifer did great on her first day
watching twins. Yes, I called several times, but everything was always good. Here's to another day. :)
The police are all geared up ready for the President's visit to the building housing his campaign headquarters (The Prudential Building).
Who doesn't love going to the dentist? This is what they had me stylin in to check for any abnormalities. Pretty cute huh? They didn't find anything, so another great checkup.
We are going to bring the girls in during our next appt. Hopefully they will get used to the place, sit in a chair, and maybe even open their mouths for a quick check up. At home, they love to brush their teeth and they even ask for their toothbrushes. They allow us to brush their teeth for a few seconds here and there. Guess we need to start practicing more so we look good for the dentist.
We interviewed Gennifer tonight. She has a 5-yr-old daughter and an almost 2-yr-old son, so she knows what it's like to have kids around. She was sweet and kept trying to pick the girls up when they fell (we tell them to "shake it off" if they didn't hit their heads too hard). Let's hope she shows up for her first day and that we didn't scare her too much.
In other baby news, Payton and Rayla have mastered stomping their feet. We sing the song, If you're happy and it you know it, and on cue they start stomping. These little stinkers are so cute! And Mamo heard Payton say a pretty impressive "thank you" today. All is good in the Hyem house.
We ended the weekend by helping my parents finish cleaning up Christmas stuff and just hanging out. Then we headed home and skyped with Yaya and Papa Joe. Oh, and Rayla now says Mamo! (And she knows who Mamo is).
The Goldstein side of the family has always been open to celebrating holidays and birthdays at any time of year. Today was the Goldstein Christmas and it was a blast. The girls had a fantastic morning. After sleeping in until 7, they woke up happy and hungry. We had breakfast and played with all of the tupperware we could find. Then the girls took a great 2.5-hour nap. The sun was shining and the weather was unseasonably warm. We headed out to Grandma and Papa's and met everyone there. We are so lucky to be able to have tons of presents for the girls to open. They love the wrapping paper and the toys. They pushed all of the buttons on their new phones, laptop, turtle, they hugged on their new dolls, they looked inquisitively at their new pink horse-drawn carriage, they kicked their colorful learning soccer ball, they and played with everything else. It was a fun mess in that living room. Another good nap and dinner followed the festivities before it was time to head home. Thanks and love to Grandma and Papa, Uncle Todd and Olivia, Aunt Kristi, Uncle Denis, and Niko, Aunt Randi and Aunt Steph, and Paula. Whew, what a great day!
When I work downtown and take the L home, I walk through this courtyard because I love the lines. It feels peaceful. This is where I leave everything from work at work and I begin to focus on homelife. Hardly anyone is ever there so I take a slow stroll through and enjoy the silence. Then I come home to these cute munchkins and life is even better.
